Motherhood is beautiful and worth celebrating.
Right now, we are praying for a mom who recently visited our Pregnancy Medical Center. Amanda first visited our Pregnancy Medical Center in August of 2022. She confirmed her pregnancy with a free, medical-grade pregnancy test and spoke with one of our client advocates about her options. She shared that she intended to have an abortion and already had an appointment scheduled at a clinic in New Mexico to receive the abortion pill. You see, at this time, abortions were still unavailable in some parts of Arizona due to the recent Supreme Court ruling. As I think about Amanda, I am so glad she was not able to walk over to Planned Parenthood to receive an abortion that day. God had bigger plans for her.
Amanda had wrestled with past trauma and addictions that threatened to take control of her life. For months, she could not make up her mind on what to do about pregnancy.
She considered parenting, abortion, and adoption. Our client advocates kept lovingly checking in with her and offering practical resources to help her get back on her feet. KeriAnn, one of our Client Advocates, said, “I could tell she was going through a lot and just doing the best she could.” For three months, we waited to hear from Amanda and prayed. As we waited, we did not know the decision she had made. Thankfully, God is so much bigger than even our biggest concerns and unknowns.
Amanda called the Pregnancy Medical Center to inform us that she gave birth to a healthy, beautiful baby boy on March 8th, 2023.
She calls him “the most amazing baby” and is overjoyed to have him in her life. As she spoke with our client advocates, she admitted “I didn’t think I could love him because I associated all the bad things in my life with him,” but now, she could not imagine her life without him. She knew adding one more little member to their family would be a lot to take on, but says she took that challenge on with courage. When we asked Amanda if she would be willing to share her story with the world, she responded, “Yes of course! If it will give someone else hope, I would love to.” Thanks to your generous donations and the support from Bethel Community Baptist Church, we were able to give Amanda a new crib, diapers, wipes, baby clothes, and a new baby swing. The generosity of our community has changed her life.
This is why we will not give up on our clients. When we are persistent, God does remarkable things.
