Volunteer with us!

Hands of Hope Tucson has several volunteer openings for those with a heart to serve.  Candidates must demonstrate a passion for Jesus Christ and compassion for people facing an unplanned pregnancy and those who have had a past abortion experience.

We will be holding an In-Person Volunteer Orientation on March 10, 2022 from 6:00 – 7:30 pm at our Pregnancy Medical Center, where you can meet the team and find out more about each volunteer opportunity.

Current Volunteer needs

Program Development: Working directly with our education team to develop and coordinate client connect groups for both Mom and Dad that go beyond the 90-minute pregnancy test appointment. Recruiting Christian speakers and presenters from across Tucson, creating a bridge between the client and the body of Christ.  

Examples would be pregnancy nutrition; What to expect when you’re expecting; What it means to be family; The family budget; Self-care before and after pregnancy; Daddy Boot Camp.    


Social Media Development: Working directly with our marketing department to engage youth in a positive message about relationships, love and sex.  


Group Facilitator: In this position you would learn to present our Why Wait Curriculum to those who are interested in learning.  Training would require attending and co-facilitating a Why Wait Class series. These classes will be held at least 3 times per year at our Hands of Hope Tucson facility as well as various churches across our city.  


Facilitator Trainer: Teaching and equipping other volunteer facilitators in the WhyWait program.  This position requires previous training as a facilitator of the WhyWait program.

Front Desk Assistant: Joining our Client Care Coordinator at the front desk of the pregnancy medical center greeting clients, answering phones, scheduling appointments and processing mobile intakes, responding to and uploading emails into client files and assisting with the emergency diaper distribution.  Client Advocate training required; front desk training provided. 
 

Client Advocate for Women: Meeting with women facing unexpected pregnancies, performing urine pregnancy tests and offering practical, emotional and spiritual support. This position requires at least a four hour per week commitment, client advocate training and shadowing
 
 

Client Advocate for Men: Meeting with men facing unexpected fatherhood, offering practical, emotional and spiritual support. This position requires at least four hours per week commitment, and client advocate training and shadowing 


Ultrasound Nurse: This position includes learning the client advocacy role, which involves meeting with women facing unplanned pregnancies, performing urine pregnancy tests and presenting options information.  Also, performing limited obstetric ultrasound (on the job training provided, and a 2-year volunteer commitment is required), STI Testing, Medical administrative work including chart audits, reports, statistics and research gathering.  Must be a Licensed Registered Nurse in good standing with the state of Arizona. 
 


Gift Basket Assembler: A fun job for those with an artistic flair and creative ability assembling gift baskets for our clients who chose life! This is typically a once-a-month need, training provided.  


Diaper Bank Coordinator: Training is provided to do inventory on monthly diapers received from The Diaper Bank of Southern Arizona, ordering diapers for the month and preparing surveys, and updating staff on how many diapers are available 


Pregnancy Center Prayer Team Member:  Become a member of our pregnancy center prayer team. Pray at home or pray at the Center, the choice is yours. You will receive a summary of needs praying for Hands of Hope Tucson’s clients, staff and volunteers, and any updates needing prayer coverage.
 

(These positions will not be needed until sometime after the first quarter of 2022, all training will be done at our Pregnancy Medical Center)

Greeter: Greeting and checking in clients with or without appointments. Scheduling walk-ups, providing clients with mobile intake forms and scanning client ID’s.  Training will begin with Client Advocacy and front desk at the PMC.  


Drivers: This position will be responsible for transporting our 32-foot luxury liner to its scheduled location.  Current AZ driver’s license with a clean driving record required. Experience with a large capacity vehicle and mechanical knowledge needed.  Help with onsite set up and tear down, security and greeting clients will also be required. 

Front Desk Assistant: This position would be responsible for answering the phone at our administrative office and greeting people as they come in. Light administrative duties such as stuffing envelopes and data entry and typing are required. Knowledge of Microsoft 365, word and excel preferred.  


Marketing/Social Media Support: Experience in Marketing and/or social media management preferred. This position would assist with copywriting for digital outreach, as well as assist with designing, conceptualizing, and executing digital outreach (social media, emails, etc.) 

Administration Prayer Team Coordinator: Responsible for coordinating Administration prayer requests as well as prayer times, orientating new prayer team members and leading in prayer.  

 Administration Prayer Team Member:  Responsible for showing up to scheduled prayer meetings and/or praying for Administration as prayer requests are communicated. 

Retreat Team Member: This position involves attending the weekend retreats as scheduled.
Team commitment is a Thursday through Sunday. Available opportunities are: hospitality behind the scenes, teaching in front of a group, and individual prayer ministry with a participant.

Group Facilitator: This position involves facilitating a small group Bible study for women or men who have experienced a past abortion. The commitment is 2 hours per week for 10 weeks. In addition to this there may be some prep time needed before each class.

Prayer Team Member:This position involves a commitment to pray for the Counseling Services including staff, volunteers, clients, groups, and retreats.

Administrative Assistant: This position involves helping the Counseling Services Manager with emails, data entry, phone calls, and purchasing needed items for our groups and retreats.

Deeper Still Prayer Team Member: This position involves being available specifically to pray while our retreats are occurring. This can be done as an on-site intercessor which would involve staying at the retreat venue Thursday through Sunday night. This can also be done by staying at home and committing to be in prayer throughout the retreat weekend.

Church liasons

The Church Liaison is responsible for promoting Hands of Hope by organizing activities and events within their church, communicating regularly with Hands of Hope staff, and generating awareness and enthusiasm for the ministry in their church community.

Hands of Hope hosts two special events a year, the raiseHope Walk for Life that takes place in the Spring and the Gala Fundraising Event that takes place in the Fall. This is a great way for a church group, individual, or family to get involved and support us through these community-wide fundraising events.
